B.Bolortuya wins bronze from World Wrestling Championships

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The 2019 World Wrestling Championships are currently being held in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan between September 14 and 22.

IM B.Bolortuya has won the bronze medal in the women’s 55kg weight class by coming out victorious against her match against Turkish wrestler Bediha Gun. It is her first time competing in the world championship.


With this medal, she became the first athlete of the national wrestling team to win a medal from the world championship. Previously, she had won the bronze medal from the U23 Senior Asian Championships and the Grand Prix named after Russian wrestler Ivan Yariguin, alongside one silver and two bronze medals from the ‘Mongolia Open’ International Freestyle Wrestling Tournament.
