BFA delegates received

On August 20, Chief of Staff to the President of Mongolia Z. Enkhbold received
delegates headed by Ban Ki-moon, Chairman of the Boao Forum for Asia and 8th
Secretary-General of the United Nations, who are attending the Boao Forum for
Asia Ulaanbaatar Conference here.
At the meeting,
Mr.Enkhbold emphasized that the participation of experts, businessmen and government
officials in the BFA Ulaanbaatar Conference gives opportunity to share views on
regional issues and discuss possibilities to expand economic cooperation along
with seeking ways to overcome challenges in relations of business doing with
Mongolia and developing a broader scale of partnership.
Noting about
Mongolia’s adhering a policy to take active part in BFA activities, Mr.
Enkhbold expressed its willingness to expand partnership with environmental
organizations that are headed by Mr.Ban Ki-moon.
For his part,
Mr. Ban Ki-moon thanked Mongolian government for hosting BFA for the first time.
Mr. Ban Ki-moon also requested to convey invitation to President Kh.Battulga to
attend the events for 20th anniversary of BFA which will be next
year.
Moreover, Mr.
Ban Ki-moon touched upon challenges in countries and regions caused by climate
changes and noted cooperation opportunity in reduction of air pollution and
promotion of green development within the mechanisms such as NEACAP and GGGI
that are headed by himself.
At the meeting,
the sides also exchanged views on ways of improving regional air quality and increasing
energy sufficiency.
