Special event on climate change organized at the UN Headquarters

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ During the High-Level Political Forum on the Sustainable Development Goals, Permanent Mission of Mongolia to the United Nations in cooperation with the UN Economic and Social Commission for the Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) organized a special event themed ‘Strengthening management and participation in the fight against climate change’ on July 10.
In his opening remarks, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the UN Mr. S.Sukhbold noted that climate change has become a critical global challenge, highlighting the need for both developed and developing countries to join forces in the fight against climate change.
Ambassador S.Sukhbold introduced the challenges of Mongolia and the Government actions, emphasizing the importance of cooperation between governments, non-governmental organizations, private sector and civil society organizations in addressing the challenges of climate change.
Representatives of the UN specialized agencies and member states expressed their views on environmental issues and introduced good practices in combating climate change.
