Ulaanbaatar Dialogue on Northeast Asian Security kicks off

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Sixth International Conference of the ‘Ulaanbaatar Dialogue on Northeast Asian Security’ kicked off on June 5.

In his opening remarks, Foreign Minister highlighted the participation of higher ranking officials in the conference and gave emphasis to the importance of not losing their aspiration to bring the dialogue to the next level even in the current complicated situation of the dialogue to overcome the distrust that has been lingering in the Northeast Asia for many decades, denuclearize the Korean Peninsula, and ensure peaceful life and safety of millions of civilians.

Chief of Staff of Office of the President Z.Enkhbold delivered President Kh.Battulga's message to the conference. The message says it is notable that this year's theme is focusing on the promotion of energy cooperation in Northeast Asia in addition to the issues of regional politics, security, opportunities and challenges and that Mongolia is collaborating with the other regional states and organizations to set up a regional organization for creating integrated power system and market in Northeast Asia.

The opening was addressed also by Global Affairs Canada's Assistant Deputy Minister for Asia Pacific Donald Bobiash, British Ambassador to Mongolia Phillip Malone, Deputy Director-General for Northeast Asian Affairs of the ROK Foreign Ministry Lim Si-heung, Head of Division at the German Federal Foreign Office Henning Simon and others.
