Expressing gratitude for organizing the conference on the occasion of the 80th anniversary, First Secretary J.Bayarkhuu noted “The victory of the Battle of Khalkha River changed the ratio of political forces at that time, preventing the union of Japan with Nazi Germany and fight with the Soviet Union, thereby creating conditions for mobilization of military forces from Far East to Moscow in 1941. This particular military force played an important role in protecting the Soviet capital and the Red Army's counter-attack.” Further highlighting the significance of the event, he said that there are many historical events like the Khalkha River battle victory in the rich history of the countries.
