Non-performing loans increased by 4.3 percent

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The money supply reached MNT 19.9 trillion at the end of April 2019, showing an increase of MNT 188.7 billion or 1 percent from the previous month and by MNT 3.6 trillion or 22.5 percent from the same period of previous year.

At the end of April 2019, the amount of outstanding loan to entities, enterprises and citizens amounted MNT 17.6 trillion, increased by MNT 182.8 billion or 1 percent from the previous month and by MNT 3.2 trillion or 21.9 percent from the same period of previous year.

At the end of April 2019, the non-performing loans in banking system amounted MNT 1.9 trillion, increased by MNT 80.2 billion or 4.3 percent from the previous month and by MNT 738.4 billion or 61.2 percent from the same period of previous year.

In the first four months of 2019, 199.2 million pieces of securities worth of MNT 70.5 billion were traded at the national stock market, which is increased by MNT 16.9 billion or 31.5 percent compared to the same period of previous year.

Trade of government bonds in secondary markets amounted MNT 24.1 billion in the first four months 2019, which decreased by 1.9 billion or 7.4 percent compared to the same period of 2018.

In April 2019, average of top 20 indexes of the financial markets was 20 118.5 units, decreased by 781.2 units from the previous month, while it increased by 169.3 units from the same period of 2018.

Nominal average exchange rate of MNT to US dollars announced from Bank of Mongolia in April 2019 was MNT 2 634.93 to one USD, which is depreciated by 10 percent from the same period of previous year and by 0.1 percent from the previous month.
