Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In the first 4 months of 2019, 24.9 thousand mothers delivered 25.1 thousand babies (live births). Compared with the same period of previous year, the number of mothers decreased by 227 (0.9 percent) and new born babies decreased by 235 (0.9 percent).
In April 2019, 6678 mothers delivered 6723 babies (births) and the number of mothers increased by 195 (3.0 percent) and new born babies increased by 196 (3.0 percent) compared to the previous month.
In April 2019, there were 78 reported cases of infant mortality, indicating an increase of two cases (2.6 percent) compared to the previous month.
In the first 4 months of 2019, infant mortality rate per 1000 live births were 14, decreased by 1, and under-five mortality rate per 1000 live births were 16, decreased by 1 compared to the same period of previous year.
In the first 4 months of 2019, maternal mortality was 5, decreased by 2 compared to the same period of previous year. Maternal mortality rate per 100000 live births were 20, decreased by 8 compared to the same period of the previous year.
