Over 3,000 citizens evacuated for disaster protection training

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. In the frameworks of the comprehensive disaster protection training taking places, training and demonstrations of search and rescue as well as evacuation operations are being organized in six districts of the capital city, namely Bayangol, Bayanzurkh, Chingeltei, Songinokhairkhan, Sukhbaatar and Khan-Uul districts.


Over 200 gers, about 100 houses and tents were built, and health care facilities, banks, schools and shelters were set up in the relocation areas throughout the city, involving over 3,000 citizens in the evacuation training.

With the emergency alarm sounded at 60 towers at 8 am, over 420,000 citizens also gathered at the safe areas in their districts to participate in the training. The training aims to inform and train the citizens of ways to protect themselves and their families during potential dangers, emergencies and disasters. The capital city traffic was halted from 7 am to 9.30 am for the comprehensive disaster protection training.
