UNFPA to partner in reproductive health education for children and youth

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Sports Yo.Baatarbileg received Head of UNFPA Office in Mongolia Kaori Ishikawa on April 10. The Minister highlighted that the technical, financial and strategic support in developing the curriculum and preparing the teachers for health class, which has been re-added into the general education school programme starting from the academic year of 2018-2019, from UNFPA was highly necessary. Through the class, 601,000 schoolchildren will be able to learn about good habits to lead a healthy lifestyle.


The sides then discussed partnering in giving sexual and reproductive health education to not only children in school, but also students in college and universities, highlighting the necessity of advocacy work to reduce the amount of cases for pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases in teens.
