Speaker meets Prime Minister of Republic of Korea

On March 26, Speaker of the Parliament G.Zandanshatar received Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea (ROK) Lee Nak-yeon, who paid an official visit to Mongolia.
Mentioning that Mongolia and the ROK established diplomatic relations 29 years ago, dated March 26th of 1990, the Speaker extended greetings of the anniversary to the guests.
Mr. Lee Nak-yeon said, “It is our duty to strengthen and develop friendly
relations of people and two countries that have long historic relations and
traditional and cultural similarities. Mongolia and the ROK have been
developing Comprehensive Partnership relations. It is vital to elevate the
bilateral relations to a strategic partnership.”
Mr. Lee Nak-yeon also highlighted “Strengthening ties between parliaments of the two countries is
our mission”.
In his turn, the Speaker G.Zandanshatar said that the Mongolian parliament is
focusing attention on learning practice from the National Assembly of the
ROK, in particular ‘A Citizen-Ruler’ program. “
Mentioning that Mongolia has a constant position that the issue on denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula has to be resolved through dialogue, the Speaker said he hopes that the ROK side will continuously back Ulaanbaatar Dialogue Initiative.
