Smokeless train project being implemented

/MONTSAME/ Ulaanbaatar Railway joint venture is implementing Smokeless Train project
to reduce air pollution and decrease coal use by installing Japan Flare advanced
technological device in chimney of passenger trains. The first 20 trains with the
installed device departed from Ulaanbaatar yesterday.
Measurement made to the trains showed that volume of carbon monoxide (CO) was 825 mg cubic meter, whereas, it was 6689 mg for trains that the device has not been installed. Seeing from it, the device is reducing carbon monoxide (CO) emission 8.8 times.
Ulaanbaatar Railway joint venture has 282 local and international passenger trains. On average, 10 thousand tons of raw coal is used for the steam trains. Therefore, Japan flare device should be installed in all trains in the future, underlined the specialists attended the ceremony.
