The visit of Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea starts

Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea Mr Lee Nak-yeon’s official visit to Mongolia has started today welcoming by Prime Minister of Mongolia U.Khurelsukh at Sukhbaatar square.

 

They paid tribute to the Statue of Chinggis Khaan and Mr. Lee Nak-yeon signed honored visitors’ book.

 

After welcoming ceremony, Prime Minister of Mongolia Mr.U.Khurelsukh and Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea (ROK) Mr.Lee Nak-yeon held official talks.

 

Wishing Mr. Lee Nak-yeon a pleasant stay in Mongolia, PM U.Khurelsukh said "Mongolia and the Republic of Korea established diplomatic relations on this day of 1990 or 29 years ago. I made my first visit to the ROK as the Prime Minister of Mongolia. During this visit, I personally got acquainted with flourishment of Republic of Korea which has been developing under your leadership. I am confident that your visit will make significant contribution to the progress of comprehensive partnership of the two countries.   

 

In his turn, PM of the ROK Mr.Lee Nak-yeon said “I am starting my visit of this year from Mongolia. I congratulate you for that Mongolia’s economy has been growing and making people’s life better. 200 thousand citizens of two countries mutually traveled last year. This is a clear indication  that relations between the two countries have made rapid strides in the past. Republic of Korea is Mongolia’s fourth largest trading partner and it is listed in the 6th place with its amount of investment. Besides industrial sector, there are broad opportunities to cooperate in areas of environment and health in the future.”

 

It is a reciprocal visit to the PM U.Khurelsukh’s visit to the Republic of Korea in January, 2018. The visit of Mr. Lee Nak-yeon to Mongolia will continue until March 27.
