Air pollution to be reduced in Bayankhongor with support of UNICEF

Bayankhongor /MONTSAME/. A workforce led by the Governor of Bayankhongor soum J.Munkhsoyol received UNICEF representatives.
During the meeting, they discussed the issue of reducing the adverse effects of air pollution on pregnant women and children in the soum as well as the work to be done to protect their health in the frameworks of the programme, ‘Child Friendly Community’, being implemented by UNICEF. In addition to air quality monitors to be installed at three kindergartens and three hospitals of the soum, a renovation is to be done for one kindergarten to improve air quality within the frames of the programme.
The sides also discussed about installing heat loss measurement devices for selected households as well as the plan of actions, current state and pressing issues in making Bayankhongor aimag a model aimag that reduced its air pollution, highlighting the importance of increasing the citizens’ participation in reducing air pollution by informing them of ways to be environmentally friendly and reduce heat loss.
