President sends official letter regarding the agenda of the Extraordinary Session of the Parliament
PoliticsUlaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ On February 20, President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga sent an official letter to Chairman of the State Great Khural G.Zandanshatar about summoning an extraordinary session of the Parliament. In this regard, President Battulga sent an official letter to the latter regarding the agenda of the extraordinary session today, March 6.
In the official letter,
President Battulga proposed some matters to be included in the agenda of the
extraordinary parliamentary session. These matters concern the release of the
Director and Deputy Director of the Independent Authority Against Corruption
from their duties on account of expiry of their terms in office and appointment
of their successors, consultation regarding the appointment of the Chief of the
General Staff of the Mongolian Armed Forces, and consultation regarding the
appointment of the Deputy Prosecutor General on account of expiry of the
incumbent’s term on January 8th, 2019.
The official letter says, “In
accordance with provisions in the Section 3 of Article 16 of the Law on the
State Great Khural of Mongolia, which states that the President … will submit
his proposals on summoning an extraordinary session of the State Great Khural
and on agenda of the extraordinary session to the Chairman of the State Great
Khural, I request you to resolve this matter in compliance with the
corresponding procedure.”
