/MONTSAME/ On February 21, Speaker of the State Great Khural (Parliament)
G.Zandanshatar met with Beate Trankmann, UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident
Representative in Mongolia.
At the
beginning of the meeting, Speaker G.Zandanshatar extended gratitude for
supporting the cooperation between the two sides during his term as Head of the
Government Secretariat and informed that changes are being made to the rules of
parliamentary debate. “An online meeting with members of the local councils of soums
will be held in a few days’ time. In doing so, difficulties faced by the
regions and the locals will be resolved without losing time,” added the Speaker.
For her
part, Ms. Beate Trankmann expressed her hope for further successful cooperation
and congratulated Mongolia on having the opportunity to present its national
voluntary review of the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals at the
‘High-Level Political Forum 2019’ to be held this July.
