Mongolian National Commission for UNESCO calling support for the mother language

On the
occasion of the day, the Mongolian National
Commission for UNESCO has launched a campaign #MyLanguageMatters, which aims to promote awareness of cultural and linguistic diversity, disseminate attitudes to preserve and safeguard cultural heritage and traditions through the native language and put an
emphasis on the significance of protecting and treasuring the native language.
The National Commission, therefore, appeals to post about
the importance and meaning of protecting and preserving the native language by
using #MyLanguageMatters hashtag.
The
International Mother Language Day was first proclaimed by the UNESCO in
November, 1999 to promote linguistic and cultural diversity and multilingualism.
To date,
2680 out of 7000 spoken languages are endangered.
