Mongolia-France consultative meeting takes place

Director at the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France, a consultative meeting between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia and the
French Republic was held in Paris, France on January 30.
At the consultative meeting, the
sides discussed bilateral, regional and international cooperation issues. They
underlined the importance of focusing on advancing diplomatic ties between the
two countries as well as intensifying bilateral cooperation in mining and agriculture
and increasing trade turnover in those sectors. Both sides then agreed to provide
Mongolian agricultural professionals with vocational training in France within
the framework of reinforcing bilateral cooperation in agriculture.
One of the important matters
brought up at the meeting was the issue of receiving technical and financial
assistance from France in combating air pollution and traffic congestion in
Ulaanbaatar. The French side expressed its readiness to cooperate in reducing
air pollution in the capital city and noted that it is planning to carry out
specific projects on solving the traffic problem.
Moreover, the two sides agreed to work
together in enhancing bilateral cooperation in tourism, increasing the number
of French tourists visiting Mongolia, promoting Mongolia in France and
improving transport relations.
