Professional medical books published in Mongolian

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Minister of Health D.Sarangerel presented 1,500 residency training books to the Central Library of Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences (MNUMS).

The Washington Manual of Outpatient Internal Medicine, Oxford Handbook of Pediatrics and the John Hopkins Manual of Gynecology and Obstetrics were translated into Mongolian, and 500 copies of each book were printed. The textbooks were published in the frameworks of the Fourth Health Sector Development Project, which is currently being implemented by the funding of ADB.


After acquiring the rights to translate and publish from the authors, two years were required to translate and edit the books. The editorial team consisted of over 50 of the best doctors, professors and researchers working at MNUMS.

The total cost for publishing the books came to a total of MNT 224 million.
