Child protection project to continue in Arkhangai

Arkhangai /MONTSAME/ Country director of Save the Children in Mongolia Mitsuaki Toyoda and Head of the Citizens' Representative Khural of Arkhangai aimag B.Usukhbayar signed a Memorandum of Understanding on co-implementing the second stage of the project on “Strengthening the child protection system in Mongolia” in 2018-2022.


“We are grateful for successful implementation of the project’s first phase in our aimag between 2015 and 2018 and empowering  joint teams of the bags and soums. Arkhangai aimag has been holding discussions and taking specific actions to deal with the issues of domestic violence and child protection. We will fully support the second stage in the future” said the aimag’s Governor.


In turn, Mr. Mitsuaki Toyada extended thanks and emphasized the great significance of the aimag’s efforts and cooperation in strengthening child protection system.


The first stage of the project was implemented in Ulaanbaatar city and Arkhangai aimag from 2015 to 2018. The second stage is to be carried out in 16 selected soums, bags ans sub-districts with the support of JICA. The sides will cooperate on disseminating good practices resulted from the project.
