Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Today, Foreign Office Minister of the UK for Asia and the Pacific Mark Field, who is on official visit to Mongolia, visited the Mongolian Stock Exchange (MSE) and discussed the issues regarding cooperation. His excellency was received by CEO of the MSE Kh.Altai.
Mr. Mark Field said that currently the two countries are cooperating in trade, investment, education, sports, environment, fight against illegal wildlife trade and other fields at regional level. “During this visit, I am planning to meet with politicians, businessmen, civil society and the people of Mongolia to exchange views on development of bilateral cooperation. I am pleased to begin my visit from the MSE,” he said.
On the further development of cooperation between the stock exchanges of the two countries, Minister Mark Field said “The Strategic Partnership Agreement, concluded between the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) and MSE in 2011 has been implemented successfully in the past. It pleases us greatly that domestic and foreign companies have issued IPOs on MSE this year. The MSE is cooperating with LSEG, which is a major shareholder in the world, and it is considered that our relationship and cooperation will expand further. Although Mongolia is located between two big states Russia and China, as the country focuses on developing relationships with its third neighbours and being open to the world, we believe that UK could be the main partner of Mongolia in this regard.”
Minister Mark Field’s three-day visit to Mongolia coincides with the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and UK.
