Morinkhuur International Festival runs for the third day

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSME/ Being co-organized by the Department of Culture and Arts of the Capital city and the World Morin Khuur Association, the Sixth Morinkhuur International Festival-Competition is running for the third day in Ulaanbaatar.
 
The International Festival-Competition kicked off with a concert ‘Contemporary compositions for the Morinkhuur’ last Saturday.
 
The main aims of the Morinkhuur International Festival-Competition are to promote Mongolia to the world through the Morinkhuur, expand cooperation among Morinkhuur players, researchers and support them to learn from each other.

Apart from amateur players, over 300 professional Morinkhuur players from Russian Federation, People’s Republic of China, Japan, the United States, Republic of Korea, Federal Republic of Germany and Republic of France are promoting the Morinkhuur to the world during the six day event.
 
In the scope of the biennial Morinkhuur festival, events such as competition for amateur and professional Morinkhuur players, concert of foreign participants, meeting and discussion, and exhibition will be organized.  
 
The sixth Morinkhuur international festival will wrap up with a gala concert on July 5 at Sukhbaatar square, in which foreign participants, amateurs, artists of the Mongolian Grand Theatre of National Arts and talented folks will perform. 
 
Since the first festival in 2008, the Morinkhuur international festival has gathered more than 600 Morinkhuur learners, teachers, researchers, Morinkhuur craftsmen, bands and ensemble from Russian Federation, People’s Republic of China, Japan, the United States, Republic of Korea, Federal Republic of Germany and France.
