Transportation to Hungary and Poland discussed

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On June 25, a working group led by the head of the Road Transport Policy Implementation and Coordination Department of the Ministry of Road and Transport Development S.Batbold met with the representatives of the Hungarian Ministry of Transport, finalized and signed an agreement, exchanged the certificates and agreed to commence the transportation.

As of 2017, Mongolia and Hungary made trade of USD 12 million and Mongolia imported medicine, office equipments, chocolate, cacao products, sanitary napkin and diapers worth of USD 11.8 million.

During the meeting the parties exchanged views on legal environment for transport, international transport requirements and bilateral cooperation, and agreed to cooperate actively to endorse the agreement in the near future. The parties discussed further issues of concern and solutions to problems including vehicles that meet the Euro 3 emission standard to run in the European countries, taxation and driver’s schedule.

Afterwards, the Mongolian delegation met with the representatives of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Poland on June 26. The parties finalized the draft agreement and exchanged the certificates. The agreement is to be signed during the upcoming Mongolian-Polish Intergovernmental Commission meeting to be held in September.

During the meeting the working group exchanged views on the capacity building of the Mongolian road inspecting agency with the General Road Transport Inspectorate of Poland. The authority has a great reputation in the EU and vast experience in implementing capacity building projects for transport inspection agencies of Ukraine, Croatia, Turkey and Kazakhstan.

The parties expressed their confidence in the further increase of the trade turnover within the EU, expansion of product transportation and improvement of trade and transportation terms.
