Consular officers meet in Ulaanbaatar

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Consular Department of the Foreign Ministry and the Mongolian Red Cross Society co-hosted a regular consular meeting of foreign resident and non-resident diplomatic missions in Mongolia.
Representatives of 12 agencies including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Emergency Management Agency, Immigration Agency, Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, General Agency for Border Protection, General Prosecutor’s Office, Supreme Court, National Police Agency, General Agency for State Registration and Intellectual Property, Customs Authority and Legal Assistance Center exchanged views on specific issues including consular relations, readmission, visa, residence registration, employment in Mongolia, disaster risk prevention and protecting foreigners from attack. Moreover, consul of the US Embassy in Mongolia B.Lapton introduced the ‘Responsible Travel’ campaign and gave information on US visa issuance, consular officer of the embassy of Canada to Mongolia U.Ariunaa introduced the World’s Consuls Forum.
Consuls and diplomats of 11 embassies in Mongolia, 11 in Beijing and one in Seoul, and representative of international organization attended the meeting. The event was particularly important in terms of exchanging information and communication between diplomats and consular officers in charge of Mongolia, and the introduction of laws and activities of government agencies of Mongolia.
