Japanese Soroptimists to help children of vulnerable group

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports Ts.Tsogzolmaa yesterday received delegates headed by Takako Egawa, President of Soroptimist-Japan Kansai Region.

At the beginning of the meeting Minister Ts.Tsogzolmaa expressed her pleasure at meeting with members of Soroptimist Federation which has 75 thousand members in 122 countries and thanked to them for paying attention to the development of Mongolian education sector and seeking opportunities to make investment.  

The delegates put their proposal to invest in education sector, especially actions targeted to orphan, poor and vulnerable group’s children. 

"The Ministry will fully support your request to help children with disabilities as wel as children living in difficult situations. Today, Mongolia has about 100 thousand people with disabilities and around 10 thousand of them are children. We can cooperate in rendering assistance to these children and their teachers too, learning from Japanese practices. Furthermore we are in need of braille printing machine and hearing aids for special school children," said the Minister.

The delegates responded that they will discuss the Minister's request and find ways and solutions to support them.  

Soroptimist-Japan Kansai Region started investing in education sector two years ago.
