State Secretary meets Director of Disarmament and Peace Institute of DPRK

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs D.Davaasuren met Director of the Disarmament and Peace Institute of Foreign Ministry of Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Yong Guk on June 15.

Mr.Kim Yong Guk underlined DPRK backs Mongolia's initiative ‘Ulaanbaatar Dialogue' targeted at strengthening the regional peace and security.

State Secretary D.Davaasuren noted the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and DPRK and 30th anniversary of North Korea’s Supreme Leader Kim Il-sung’s visit to Mongolia are occurring this year. He congratulated two time high-level talks between the Republic of Korea and DPRK held in April and May, 2018 and the historic summit meeting between the leaders of the United States and DPRK which took place on June 12, 2018 in Singapore. He said talks between the corresponding sides will give stimulus to regional peace and prosperity while highlighting that ‘Ulaanbaatar Dialogue’ aims at regularizing talks and strengthening mutual understanding in the region.
