Mongolia to train professionals in Japan, South Korea and Germany

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection in cooperation with the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany will organize a forum themed ‘Vocational Education – Diligent Mongolians’ in Ulaanbaatar on June 18-19. In relation, the organizers gave briefing today.
About 20 Mongolian students from Vocational schools in Germany will attend the forum, introducing the main features and characteristics of German Vocational Education and Training.
Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection S.Mungunchimeg noted during the press briefing, “On the national level, 35800 students are studying at 85 vocational schools. According to the survey of 2017, 46.1 per cent of graduates are employed. To increase the chance of being employed, there is a necessity to train human resource meeting the labor market needs, use cutting-edge technologies in trainings and improve teachers’ skills”
First Secretary and Head of the Development Cooperation Division of the German Embassy in Mongolia Dr. Christian Glass said that vocational education is a priority field of cooperation between Mongolia and Germany. Currently, Mongolia and Germany are cooperating in educating professionals in banking, financial and law sectors. "Moreover, we are conducting trainings combining theory and practice to train professionals such as welder and electrician for mining sector. Germany implements the dual vocational training system, which combines theory and practice in a real-life work environment. On the basis of the system, Germany has started developing after the World War 2."
MP D.Terbishdagva said Mongolia is co-implementing a program ‘Diligent Mongolians’ with Germany to train professionals who meet the requirements of the modern work places. In the frames of the program, the Mongolian government set an aim to train 30 thousand professionals until 2030.
“The Government of Mongolia allocated MNT 1 billion in 2018 budget for the implementation of the program ‘Diligent Mongolians’. In the future, we will send students to Japan, South Korea and Germany and train five thousand engineers. Our country will develop when all Mongolians have decent jobs and income,” MP D.Terbishdagva emphasized.
