MP D.Gantulga resigns

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ During the Parliament’s plenary meeting on June 14, MPs discussed an issue on dismissing the Member of Parliament D. Gantulga from his position according to MP D.Gantulga’s resignation request, submitted on June 11.
Specifically, MP D.Gantulga submitted a letter of resignation to the Parliament Speaker M.Enkhbold on June 11 due to the reason of his allegation of sexual assault.
Earlier, on June 8, the Parliament discussed a Prosecutor’s proposal to suspend MPs D.Gantulga and D.Murat who both were accused of sexual assault. However, majority of MPs voted against the Prosecutor's proposal to revoke immunity of the two MP's powers.

Mongolia’s President Kh.Battulga vetoed the Parliament’s 45th and 47th resolutions on June 13 regarding the MPs suspension.
As MP D.Gantulga resigned, a parliamentary by-election will take place in Khentii aimag to replace him.
