Winners of Altan Khalis Independent Film Festival announced

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Closing ceremony of the Altan Khalis Independent Film Festival (AKIFF) was held on June 8 and the juries announced the winners.

Altan Khalis Award went to ‘May Day’ by Olivier Magis (Belgium) and  the winner receives the right to present the work for the selections of the Athens International Film+Video Festival 2018. Total of 31 short films out of 514 films from 56 countries were selected for the competition part.

 
Following films were announced as best.
 
Best International Documentary Film: ‘Fuel Filter’ - Marina-Evelina Cracana (UK, Romania)



Best Mongolian Documentary (Special Mention): ‘Sumber’ - Battulga Gantulga



Best International Experimental Film: ‘Film Loop 31’ Shisendo - Michael Lyons (Japan)



Best Mongolian Experimental Film: ‘Decay’ - Otgon-Erdene Erdene-Ochir



Best International Animation Film: ‘Lotus Lantern’ - Xingpei Shen (China)



Best International Narrative Film: ‘Pigs’ - Roman Liubyi (Ukraine)



Best Mongolian Narrative Film: ‘The Key’ - Nomin Gantulga



Selection Committee Award: ‘Barefoot’ - Galsandorj Tsagaantsooj (Mongolia)
