Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ On June 4, Igor Levitin, aide to the Russian President V.V.Putin, paid a courtesy call on M.Enkhbold, Speaker of Mongolian Parliament, who is taking part in the International Forum 'Development of Parliamentarism in Moscow, Russia.

In the beginning of the meeting, Speaker M.Enkhbold emphasized, “Intergovernmental cooperation is growing much since 2017. Most Ministers of the Mongolian Government made working visits to Russia in the past period. As well, Presidents of the two countries met and exchanged views on essential matters of bilateral cooperation. Overall relations between our two countries are successfully developing. But, it is necessary to use existing potentials well to bring it into a higher level”.

“A matter whether Mongolia, which has been an observer of Shanghai Cooperation Organization for 14 years, will become a member or not is being accurately scrutinized in the level of National Security Council and Parliament. Moreover, another issue, joining the Free Trade Agreement of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) is under the talks. These matters are believed to be discussed more clearly when Presidents of the two countries will meet,” added the Speaker.

In turn, Mr. Levitin said, “I think that cooperating with the EEU is significant to your country. In addition, it is important to export Mongolia’s coal to foreign markets through the ports of Far East. I hope that forthcoming event ‘Mongolia-Russia Initiative-2018’, which will be organized in Ulaanbaatar city, will respond to many important issues”.

During the meeting, the sides also touched issues regarding bilateral cooperation in railway, agriculture, veterinary, auto road and exports.
