Turkish Embassy organizing event to support low-income women

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ At the initiative of Turkish Ambassador to Mongolia Ahmet Yazal and his spouse K. Zeynep Sayım Yazal, an event ‘Upcycling in Mongolia’ is to organized at the Turkish Embassy in Mongolia on May 18-19.

Co-organized by the Mongolian Quilting Center, two day event aims at supporting women with disability and low-medium income. Donations will be spent on running sewing trainings for medium-low income women in remote areas. Previously, the event was organized at the initiative of the Embassy in 2017. As for this year, the event takes place for two days at the request of public.

The eco-friendly event is promoting and teaching attendees how to reuse old clothes and stuffs. In addition, people can make contribution  by bringing old clothes, especially made of denim fabrics, organizing workshops, buying products from the fair as well as donating money.

On the sideline of the event, organizers will sell Turkish cuisine to raise fund for the Mongolian Quilting Center.
