French companies interested in founding aircraft fleet at NEMA

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Deputy Minister of Mongolia U.Enkhtuvshin held a meeting with French delegates led by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia Elizabeth Barsacq on May 17.

The sides discussed Mongolia-France relations and cooperation between emergency agencies of the two countries in the field of disaster prevention, emphasizing the Memorandum signed between Mongolia and France in 2010, which played an important role to disaster prevention, protection from disaster and relief efforts. So, the sides concurred in upgrading the Memorandum of Understanding into Agreement.

Two French companies are interested in founding an aircraft fleet for the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), facilitating its maintenance, training staffs, supplying fire-extinguishing machinery and rescue vehicle for rescue team, and implementing a project on training firemen. Prior, delegates of the companies visited Mongolia and conducted a wide researche on Mongolian climate, features of the land and current machineries of the fire department.
 
The Deputy Minister expressed that Mongolia is ready to immediately start implementing the project to be funded by the French Government loan. The sides agreed in advance that a preferential loan will have an annual interest of 0.25 percent and 50 years of repayment term. 
 
France rendered aid worth EUR90 thousand including clothes, medicines, hospital equipment and food during the flood in 2009 and dzud in 2009-2010.
