Khuvsgul /MONTSAME/ A Fish Breeding Center has been established in Khuvsgul aimag to create an ecological reserve. The 'Fish Breeding Center' and 'Mongolian Fish Conservation-Taimen  Association' non-governmental organization is jointly breeding 150 thousand baby Lenoks in Bayangol and Delgermurun river basins and plan to establish a fish breeding pond in furture. Lenoks are a genus, Brachymystax, of salmonid fishes native to rivers and lakes in Mongolia, Kazakhstan, wider Siberia (Russia), Northern China, and Korea.

" The number of fishes has been decreased by 4-5 times in recent years. Therefore, we are breeding 150 thousand baby Lenoks at the first stage. According to the government's resolution value of one fish is MNT 17 thousand. As of today we spent MNT 25 million for the 150 thousand baby lenoks and this means that we are creating an ecological reserve worth MNT 2 billion 550 million" emphasized governor of Khuvsgul aimag L.Ganbold.

'Fish Breeding Center' was established after conducting studies for two years jointly with professional organizations, academics, government and non-government organizations. By developing a fishing farm, they aim to intensify tourism development in the area through organizing recreational fishing tournaments and creating Khuvsgul brand besides creating an ecological reserve.
