Constructional works in educational sector introduced

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ At March 26 meeting of the Council of the Governor of the Capital City, Sh.Ankhmaa, deputy Governor of Ulaanbaatar in charge of social development issues, introduced investment to be made in educational sector this year.

“This year, constructional works will commence for a total of 45 new school buildings: 18 new schools and 27 school extensions. Besides, it is planned to construct 9 schools and 25 school extensions with the state budget, 7 schools with non-refundable aid of Chinese government and 2 new schools and 2 school extensions with non-refundable aid of Japanese Government,“ reported Sh.Ankhmaa.

Moreover, constructional work will begin for a total of 56 kindergartens: 42 new kindergartens and 10 kindergarten extensions with investment of the state budget, 2 kindergartens within the ADB’s project on ger area re-planning and 2 kindergartens with a funding of the UNICEF. In addition, it was projected in the state budget 2018 to build 3 primary school-kindergarten complexes and 5 sport halls.

After hearing the report, the Governor of the Capital City S.Batbold said, “There is a plan to complete elimination of three-shifts in schools by 2020. Also, children’s attendance in kindergartens will be reached to 85 percent. There are a lot of works to do in educational sector throughout 2018. Now we need to solve land issues required for constructing 17 schools and kindergartens."
