Prime Minister works in Khovd aimag

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh’s working trip to western aimags commenced in Khovd aimag on March 19. 

Just after his arrival in the aimag, the PM held a meeting with the staff of the aimag’s Governor Office. After hearing about the aimag’s socio-economic situation, the PM cautioned, “The government announced 2018 as Year of Accountability. Accordingly, officials working at all levels of the public service shall adhere to the principles of fairness and justice, strictly follow the public service ethical standards and be impartial. Also they have to promptly respond to public petitions and complaints and work within law.”

He also instructed to show all-round supports to enterprises that produce 80 percent of the GDP, commence  constructional works to be built with state and local budgets immediately and complete on time.
 
The Aimag’s authorities put some requests to the PM to start constructions of Erdeneburen hydropower plant and roadwork of Must-Erdeneburen route, expand capacity of Khovd Thermal Power Plant and heating network as well as to exempt flight service from VAT. “In case aviation fuel supply becomes open the ticket price will likely be reduced by 10-20 percent,” said the aimag authority.   

The same day, the Prime Minister also got acquainted with the activities of the aimag’s General Hospital, meeting with its staff and presenting ambulance cars and medical equipment and implements. Then he visited the Emergency Department.

Khovd aimag, western regional center of the country, has a population of over 87 thousand and over three million head of livestock. There are 283 enterprises that created more than 1300 jobs and produce over 70 kinds of products.
