Exhibition demonstrating water sector history opens

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ Preceding the World Water Day (March 22) and on occasion of 80th anniversary of water sector in Mongolia, the Ministry of Environment and Tourism and Water Academy of Mongolia are co-organizing a photo exhibition ’80 years in two centuries’ at the National History Museum.

The exhibition, which runs on March 15-31, displays interesting and rare photos about water sector in the country.

Present at the opening were the Minister of Environment and Tourism N.Tserenbat, MP B.Saranchimeg, deputy Minister of Construction and Urban Development Sh.Lkhamsuren, President of the Water Academy of Mongolia S.Chuluunkhuyag and representatives of water sector.

Minister N.Tserenbat said, “80 years ago, the Water Provision Department was first established in the then-Ministry of Livestock and Farming. Previous generation of the water sector made big achievements in developing wells in the regions where water was scarce, irrigating farmland, identifying water resources, quality and composition and conducting researches  as well as  they put a basis of principles of present water policy.”
