Blueprint of landfill at Tsgagaan Davaa waste disposal site introduced

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Ulaanbaatar City Mayor's Office has been implementing its first joint project with United Nations Industrial Development Organization targeted on Reducing emissions of persistent organic pollutants since 2017.

Ulaanbaatar city's general manager received Carmela Sentena, UNIDO's specialist in charge of projects. Within the scope of this regional project a landfill  for ash waste will be built in the Tsagaan Davaa central waste disposal site in Ulaanbaatar.  Ms.Carmela Sentena has presented the design of the work to the Ulaanbaatar city general manager and exchanged views on the further cooperation regarding the supply issues of equipment and machinery needed for the project This year, preparatory work is being made to build a fence around the Tsagaan Davaa central waste disposal site with state budget.

Ms.Carmela Sentena said "Ulaanbaatar is a very special city. It has a harsh weather conditions and during drought-fed season, there is a lot of fire in the waste disposal sites which produces persistent organic pollutnats to the air, this is the main reason why we decided to implement this project". She expressed gratitude to Ulaanbaatar city for paying special attention to this issue, realising big works.
