Deputy Mayor meets her counterpart of Rennes

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ On March 9, Sh.Ankhmaa, deputy Mayor of Ulaanbaatar city for Social Development, met Charlotte Marchandise-Franquet, deputy Mayor for Health of Rennes city, France.
They discussed about the role and participation of health sector in improvement of Ulaanbaatar city’s air quality, new projects for inter-sector cooperation and cooperation opportunities of relevant municipal organizations.
During the meeting, Health Department and Air Pollution Reduction Department of Ulaanbaatar city introduced ongoing health projects in the capital. Ms.Charlotte Marchandise-Franquet briefly reported about outcomes of the project on strengthening profession and skills of midwives, which was implemented in Ulaanbaatar.
Representatives from the World Bank, Healthy Cities Network, World Health Organization and UNICEF, who attended the meeting, expressed their opinion on projects and programs implemented for reducing air pollution.
Moreover, they shared views on prevention of negative impacts of air pollution on health and possibility to cooperate in implementing joint project on reducing air pollution. The project aiming to make one khoroo, a smallest administrative unit, ecofriendly will mobilize public participation and introduce new methodology.
