International hockey and figure skating teams to partake in Blue Pearl Festival

Khuvsgul /MONTSAME/ Annual ice festival ‘Blue Pearl -2018’ will be organized for the 19th time on the frozen Khuvsul Lake year on the weekend of March 2-3.
 
“In this year’s festival, international hockey and figure skating teams will participate as well as mini town will be built featuring characteristics of six ethnicities including Buryatia, Darkhad and Khotgoid, especially the Tsaatan (reindeer people),” said Deputy Governor of Khuvsgul aimag Ts.Battogtokh.

The ice festival was organized for the first time in 2000 with aims to pay a tribute to Khuvsgul lake and surrounding Mountains as well as to preserve the lake. As for this year, ice festival will be celebrated under the theme ‘Let’s love and preserve Khuvsgul lake’.
