Mongolian parliamentary delegation attends APPF meeting

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ On January 18, the 26th annual meeting of Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF) kicked off in Hanoi, Vietnam.
More than 350 representatives of member states are holding discussions under the general topic ‘Parliamentary partnership: Peace, reform and sustainable development’, including a wide range of issues politics, security, regional trade and economic cooperation, sustainable development, inclusive growth and gender equality.
Mongolia’s Parliament Speaker M.Enkhbold delivered a speech at the meeting of APPF Executive Committee. In his speech, M. Enkhbold emphasized that Mongolia would take part constantly in APPF activities and make efforts to implement its resolutions.

At the meeting of Executive Committee, participants reviewed achievements and outcomes of APPF according to its cooperation mechanism, and exchanged views on pressing issues to be on focus further.
Prior to the opening of the 26th APPF meeting, a meeting of women parliamentarians was held, at which Mongolia’s MP B.Undarmaa attended. The meeting touched upon issues to seek ways to promote gender equality and empowerment of women and girls for sustainable development shared prosperity in the region. They also discussed about promoting employment of women with decent financial sources and protecting them from violence and discrimination.
