Foreign Minister requests to support Mongolia to get off EU black list

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On December 5, 2017, the European Union agreed on a tax blacklist of 17 countries including Mongolia. In connection with the decision, Minister of Foreign Affairs D.Tsogtbaatar sent letters to High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice-President of the Commission Federica Mogherini, Presidency of the EU in the first half of 2018, Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva and other 27 Foreign Ministers of the EU member states, requesting to immediately take Mongolia off the EU’s blacklist.
“Government of Mongolia is ready to collaborate in developing good tax governance, supporting transparency and improving information sharing within the scope of the 38th provision of the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between Mongolia and the EU and its member states which entered into force on November 1, 2017 as well as to contribute to global efforts to develop open, transparent and good governance.
In this framework, Mongolian Government submitted its official request join Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes and also Mongolia became the 111th country to implement ‘Inclusive Framework on Base Erosion and Profit Shifting' (BEPS) by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD)”, the letter says.
