Quality of banks' assets deemed safe

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ First hearing of the bill on amendments to Banking Law was held at today’s Parliamentary plenary meeting.

MPs clarified certain matters from authorities of Bank of Mongolia. BoM Governor N.Bayartsaikhan responded, “In 2016 valuations on commercial banks' asset quality were conducted by an international organization. 2016 was a difficult year from an economical standpoint. However, examination showed satisfactory results. The commercial banks have been directed to increase their capital in the coming 6 months. For now, it is safe to say that there is no risk regarding quality of bank assets.”
