Policy Council on information technology holds its meeting

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ A Policy Council on Information Technology (PCIT) held its meeting on December 15, discussing its draft regulations, directions of next year’s action, progress of projects and programs being implemented with foreign loans and assistance, and further objectives.
At the meeting, G.Zandanshatar, Head of the Cabinet Secretariat and chief of the PCIT, said that digitalization of public service would make public service transparent, eliminate red tape and corruption and save time and man-force.

He criticized that e-governance and IT projects, running at state organizations with foreign loans and assistance, have not sufficient integrations and unified policy and plans. For this reason, ministries and agencies were recommended to report the progress of project implementations to the Information Technology, Post and Telecommunications Authority, and get consent from this organization to implement other project and program further.
E-governance system includes national data center, fibre optics network of soums, ‘Khur’ state information exchange system, identity card of citizens, 11 11 center, public service online machines.
The PCIT is aiming to intensify implementation of government resolutions on e-governance, develop online and digital communications, resolve payment system of state e-service, increase use of e-signature, establish a unified addressing system and expand access to postal services.
