Mongolian students win bronze medals in ITMO

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolian students won bronze medals in the International Teenagers Mathematics Olympiad (ITMO) which was held on November 8-12 in Davao, Philippines. Eight students participated in this Olympiad and  received four bronze medals and four special prizes.
 
The Olympiad was attended by participants from 20 countries and in a category of individual E.Enkhjin,  student of the 4th secondary school in Orkhon aimag, Ch.Chingun, student of ‘Soyombo’ primary school in Ulaanbaatar city and O.Enkhzul and E.Telmuun, students of ‘Ulemjtenger’ secondary school in Zamiin-Uud soum of Dorno-Gobi aimag claimed bronze medals.
 
Moreover the special prizes were awarded to G.Narmandakh from ‘Soyombo’ primary school, P.Davaa-Erdene from‘Mongol Oyu’ secondary school in Darkhan-Uul aimag, O.Odjargal, from ‘Nomuun dalai’ secondary school and G.Bat-Itgel from ‘Soogo-Seikeo’ secondary school in Bayankhongor aimag.
 
The students also competed in team’s category and the two teams both claimed bronze cup and bronze medal.
 
The Mongolian team was headed by Dr.B.Battsengel, a member of  the National Committee of Mathematics Olympiad and Kh.Tumurkhan, teacher of ‘Mongol Oyu’ secondary school in Darkhan-uul aimag and S.Tsagaan, teacher of ‘Algorithm’ training center in Bayankhongor aimag worked as coaches. It is noteable that six students from aimags participated in the Olympiad for the first time.
