Mongolia and Czech to increase bilateral trade turnover

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry B.Batzorig received Jiri Brodsky, Ambassador of Czech Republic, on November 6.

At the meeting, they agreed to establish small and medium-sized meat and milk processing enterprises in Mongolia with purposes to maximize consumption of local meat and milk and put it into economic circulation, and to develop wooden furniture factory in Mongolia. In order to realize it, the sides reached an agreement to support cooperation of businesses of two countries, train agricultural specialists in the Czech Republic and learn experiences from the country.  

“The Czech Republic exports food products worth USD357 thousand to Mongolia, but there is almost no products supplying from Mongolia to Czech. Therefore, our countries need to concentrate on improving bilateral trade turnover,” said Jiri Brodsky.    

The Ambassador was also informed about projects that are completed or under progress with financing of the Czech Government in 1996-2017. They also agreed to realize joint projects and programs in agricultural sector and expand bilateral cooperation.

In the end, the Ambassador proposed to organize a business forum during the next year’s meeting of the intergovernmental commissions.
