EU countries willing to share experience in environment

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister of Environment and Tourismr N.Tserenbat held meetings with Ambassadors of 31 EU member states and the Ambassador of China, on November 3.

During the meeting with EU Ambassadors, N.Tserenbat said that Mongolia is seeking solutions to pressing issues in its environment and tourism sector and said it would be pleased if the EU countries collaborate with the country in the sector.

In response, the Ambassadors expressed their readiness to cooperate with the Ministry. For instance, the Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic expressed his commitment to collaborate in tourism development and to share experiences in reduction of air pollution. Also the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden expressed an interest of his country to cooperate with Mongolia in improving garbage management and naturalizing renewable energy.

At the meeting with Chinese Ambassador Xing Haiming, Environment Minister put forward a request to commence actions immediately, which have not been realized yet but were agreed during the period of previous government of Mongolia.     

The Chinese Ambassador pledged to convey the Mongolian request to authorities of his country's Ministries of National Defense and Water Resources, the State Forestry Administration and the National Tourism Administration.
