Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Embassy of Canada in Mongolia recently organized an essay competition titled “Why Canada is an important partner for Mongolia?” among high school students in Mongolia.

The competition attracted many Mongolian youths who submitted their essays from throughout the country, such as Uvs, South Gobi, and Bulgan aimags.

From over forty essay submissions, the Embassy selected one essay as the best and several others were chosen for special prizes. The best essay was submitted by Saran-Anar Ochirbat, a 12thgrade student  of the Mongolian-Russian joint school.

During the award ceremony held at the Embassy, Ambassador Sproule noted that he was impressed by how well Mongolian students were informed on Canada and Mongolia relations and was delighted to see the people-to-people relationship is growing between our two countries.

In 2017, Canada celebrates an important national milestone – 150 years since becoming a nation. To highlight this milestone, Canadians in Canada and abroad are holding special events throughout 2017. This year has been exceptional so far. It has been filled with activities designed to focus on youth; celebrate Canada’s diversity and inclusion, discover Canada’s natural beauty, and strengthen its environmental awareness.

The Embassy of Canada in Mongolia joined the celebrations and has held several activities for Mongolians and its youth.
