MPRP Deputy Chairman S.Ganbaatar found guilty for bribery

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Criminal Court of Bayanzurkh district found S.Ganbaatar, Deputy Chairman of Mongolian People’s Revolutionary Party (MPRP), guilty for bribery on October 30.
The trial court session, led by judge S.Usukhbayar, proceeded openly and ruled that the politician violated the Law on Election by accepting a bribe amounting to KRW 50 million from a South Korean national.
The trial court also resolved to impose a fine of MNT 1 million 440 thousand upon S.Ganbaatar, a sum equaling to minimum monthly wage added six times.
The court also ordered the General Election Commission to remove S.Ganbaatar as candidate of the Mongolian People’s Revolutionary Party in the 2017 Presidential election, and transfer the donation KRW 50 million to State Fund.
In compliance with the Article 38.2 of the Law on Criminal Procedure, S.Ganbaatar has the right to appeal within 14 days.
