Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The 'Orgil Rashaan Suvilal' spring sanatorium has been privatized at MTN 15.02 billion in an open auction.

The state-owned company's privatization had been cancelled twice in 2015 and 2017 as nobody expressed interest to participate. A citizen of Mongolia D.Ganbat bought the resort this time, raising the initial price by MNT 3 billion competing with the Gurvan Gol Holding LLC.

The Government Agency for Policy Coordination on State Property established the Sale and Purchase Agreement with D.Ganbat under a condition that current business operation or spring sanatorium service operation should not be changed. The new owner also should meet certain requirements in future, including keeping professionals in their position, not lowering the level of service and operations, widening service scope and improving its quality.

The spring was discovered in 1932-1933 when the land was drilled for water research in the north of the Tuul River and acidic water spurted out from the depth of 90 meter. It was revealed that the water contains carbonic acid, calcium, magnum and metal. The sanatorium was established in 1934 and now it has a capacity of receiving 350 persons in one shift, rendering some 30 types of treatment services to over 10.000 persons in a year.
