Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolian youths are taking part in the 44th WorldSkills Competition opened on October 14 in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates.

This year’s competition attracted 1,300 participants of 77 countries, competing in 51 events. Made its debut of the competition in 2015, Mongolia is participating in the competitions in six skill events including carpentry, bricklaying, welding, electrical installation, plumbing and heating and cooking.

On the first day, a Mongolian competitor B.Dagvasuren completed his tasks in cooking skills, making a dessert, chicken soup and mutton food as main course. Another competitor J.Janlav-Oidov has to complete four tasks in four days in the welding skill contest.

In the plumbing contest, N.Erdenemunkh was given a 2D task to build a replica of the Burj Al Arab Tower, but later the 30 per cent of the task has changed, becoming more difficult for him, while Ts.Myagmarsuren is competing in bricklaying event after having a duty to build a 3D model of a three-sided church.

Ts.Dolgormaa has been given a task to create a solar water-heating system in the plumbing contest. The assignment might be challenging for her because this kind of system has not been introduced yet in Mongolia.

The WorldSkills Competition will continue until October 18.
