President Kh.Battulga attends inauguration of NUM library

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On October 5, President Kh.Battulga attended an inauguration ceremony of the new library at the National University of Mongolia (NUM) and made the first online book order.
The President congratulated the NUM on its 75th anniversary and said, “I am very proud to hear that this library was developed and built by all Mongolian companies,”
The six-storey building is a full Mongolian-made facility, according to NUM authorities.
During his opening remarks, President Kh.Battulga quoted the famous phrase “A book is a window to the world,” and said “It is a proud moment for us to see the NUM library develop into a world-class facility today.” The NUM library was established in 1942 with an inventory of only a hundred books.
The opening ceremony was also addressed by NUM President Ya.Tumurbaatar and Acting Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Sports as well.
Following the ceremony, President Kh.Battulga partook in the inauguration of a new monument in front of the new library, and visited the reading rooms, museum and NUM Brandshop. The President also signed the NUM’s memorial notebook which was opened in 1957.
